FROM: GUIDELINES FOR USING PORTABLE LADDERS ON TEMPORARY AND MOBILE CONSTRUCTION SITES
Of the total number of serious accidents, falls from heights have an incidence ranging from 30% to 40% in terms of the number of cases and 50% in terms of degrees of permanent disability.
The use of the ladder is at the origin of 50% of falls from heights with serious damage.
Consequently, to counter this widespread underestimation of the risk generated by the widespread misuse of ladders, the Lombardy Region has created a Working Group that has set itself the goal of preparing operational indications that are easy to use on site, to ensure that portable ladders are considered:
equipment for access to high places in relation to small and short-term jobs.
Articles 107 and 111 of Legislative Decree 81/08 (Consolidated Law on Safety) require that the employer provide protection against falls from heights greater than 2 meters with respect to a stable surface when it is necessary to minimize the possibility of such a risk due to the danger and duration of the work performed.
If the safety manager forces the operator to work on the ladder with the help of a PPE, then SICURUP is the best device on the market.
It is specifically designed to use the ladder itself with which you work as a hooking and support structure for the PPE for maximum comfort and speed of use.

OPERATING SYSTEM:
- When the ladder is closed, the Upper Bracket must be mounted on 2 rungs at the top.
- The rope equipped with a fall arrest device is attached to the Upper Bracket.
- The Lower bracket must be mounted on 2 rungs at the bottom
- Raise the ladder to the desired height and anchor it to the wall.
- Connect the rope to the lower bracket and tension the rope itself.
- The operator with a 2-point harness connected to the PPE will now be able to climb the ladder in total safety
- SICURUP can always remain mounted on the ladder for subsequent applications.
SICURUP is universal, tested and certified for use on any type of ladder in accordance with European standards UNIEN131. N.B. It is forbidden to use SICURUP on stairs that do not comply with European standards.
